Academy Information & Details


Academy Attire

As our club branding has grown many teams have purchased training shirts and or tracksuits. We encourage all players to wear CMFSC attire at the Academy.

For the Prospects Academy it is mandatory that CMFSC jersey, training shirt, or jacket is worn at all Academy sessions. Please refer to the following link for Academy Training gear that can be purchased through Soccer Express:

Registration Deadline

Our program has limited registration due to field constraints.

Refunds

  • Approved refunds include pro-rating the registration fees after a $25.00 administrative fee deduction.

Out of Club Players

  • Out of club players may register for our Academy, but players not registered with the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club must add $20.00 onto their registration fee.
  • Players that were not registered with a team for the 2018-19 Fall/Winter Season must also pay this additional fee.

Commitment

  • Players are expected to arrive on time ready to play wearing proper soccer attire, shin pads, and proper footwear and with a water bottle. 
  • All players in the Prospects Academy must wear CMFSC branded jerseys to the Academy, black shorts, and black socks.  
  • Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Academy is open to motivated players of all skill levels committed to improvement. Players who prove to be disruptive to this training environment will lose their place in the program and a pro-rated refund (after a $30 administrative fee deduction) will be given based on the number of sessions they have attended.

Cancellations

  • The Academy sessions will only be cancelled in severe weather conditions. If this is the case you will be notified via email of any cancellations and we will do everything possible to make the cancelled sessions up. The club will not be responsible for refunds if we are unable to reschedule these missed sessions due to weather.

  • What Academy opportunities are available for players in the Development League?

    All players will have access to receive extra training through our academies, camps, & club jamborees. All Development players additionally will be invited to our Prospects Program.

  • What happens if there is inclement weather?

    If the City of Coquitlam closes the fields due to weather or safety, we will notify all Academy players via email. We will also update our website and post information on our homepage.

  • What if we can't make all the sessions?
    Missed sessions will not be refunded unless a medical reason is provided. 


  • What is the $20 Out-of-Club Fee?

    This fee is applied to any Academy registrations when the player is not currently registered in the CMFSC Fall League Program.

  • What is the difference between Player Academy and Prospects?

    Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC hosts two different types of academies to appeal to all levels of ability.  

    Boys & Girls Player Academy is open to all players and focuses on individual technical development and small-sided games. 

    Prospects Academy is intended to provide U8 - U10 Development Stream and U11 - U12 Divisional players with an opportunity to train in a more competitive environment. This program is an invite only program. Players from the house program may be invited to attend the program as well.  

  • What should my child wear to Academy?

    All Academy attendees must wear shin-guards and cleats. Players should wear comfortable athletic clothing that is weather appropriate (shorts, t-shirt, pants, toque, gloves, etc). It is suggested to wear CMFSC branded gear if possible.

  • When does registration open?

    Registration opens in mid-July for the 2018-19 Fall Academy.

  • Will my child get to play in full-sided games?

    No. The Academy setting is to work on individual skill development and small-sided games (maximum 5 per team).

Girls & Boys Prospects Academy - Monday Evenings (8 Sessions)


The Prospects Academy is intended to provide our Under 11 (2009) through Under 12 (2008) Select players with an opportunity to train in a competitive environment. The focus for this academy will be on individual technical skill development and tactical play in a small-sided game format.

The Prospects Academy is an invite only program. All invites for this program will be sent by CMFSC Technical Staff by March 24th. All players not included in the Prospects Program are encouraged to register for the Spring Player Academy.

Girls & Boys Prospects Academy - Mondays (8 Sessions)


The Prospects Academy is intended to provide the Under 8 (2012 Born), Under 9 (2011 Born), and Under 10 (2010 Born) Development Stream players with an opportunity to train in a competitive environment. The focus for this academy will be on individual technical skill development and tactical play in a small-sided game format.

All Under 10 (2010 Born) and Under 9 (2011 Born) Development Stream players will be invited into the Prospects program. In addition, players may be identified from the House Stream and invited into the Prospects program. All house players not included in the Prospects Academy are encouraged to register for the Spring Academy.

The Prospects Academy is an invite only program. All invites for this program will be sent by CMFSC Technical Staff by March 24th.

Boys & Girls Spring Player Academy - Wednesday & Thursday Evenings (8 sessions)


This program is open to all players in the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club from Under 5 (2015) through Under 18 (2002). Player groupings    will be based on placing like-minded and like-skilled players together. This will allow each player to develop in an environment appropriate to his or her ability. The Wednesday & Thursday night Player Academy will be primarily focused around individual technical development and small-sided games. This program sold out last season so register early!

Girls & Boys Goalkeeping Academy - Friday Evenings (8 sessions)


The goalkeeping academy will provide age appropriate goalkeeping training for Under 8 (2012 Born) through Under 18 (2002 Born) working on the physical, technical, and tactical side of goalkeeping.
