Academy Information & Details


Academy Attire

As our club branding has grown, many teams have purchased training shirts and or tracksuits.  All players should be wearing CMFSC uniforms, CMF Training kit, or CMFSC tracksuits to the Academy.

Registration Deadline

Our program has limited registration due to field constraints. For players that register late, the program will be pro-rated *Please contact Member Services to assist with registration.

Refunds

  • Approved refunds include pro-rating the registration fees after a $30.00 administrative fee deduction.

Out of Club Players

  • Out of club players may register for our Academy but will be placed on a waiting list as the first priority for our Academies is for players within our club. Out of club players or players not affiliated with a club, will also be required to pay an additional $20 Out-of-Club fee.

Commitment

  • Players are expected to arrive on time ready to play wearing proper soccer attire, shin pads, and proper footwear and with a water bottle.
  • Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Academy is open to motivated players of all skill levels committed to improvement. Players who prove to be disruptive to this training environment will lose their place in the program and a pro-rated refund (after a $30 administrative fee deduction) will be given based on the number of sessions they have attended.

Cancellations

  • The Academy sessions will only be cancelled in severe weather conditions. If this is the case you will be notified via email of any cancellations and we will do everything possible to make the cancelled sessions up. The club will not be responsible for refunds if we are unable to reschedule these missed sessions due to weather.

  • If I register late and miss some sessions, will the cost be pro-rated?

    If you'd like to register after the program has already begun, please contact Member Services to assist you with registration. Our programs do not automatically pro-rate so this will have to be added manually. 

    Please note that once you are registered, any missed sessions after will not be refunded or pro-rated. 

  • What Academy opportunities are available for players in the Development League?

    All players will have access to receive extra training through our academies, camps, & club jamborees. All Development players additionally will be invited to our Prospects Program.

  • What happens if there is inclement weather?

    If the City of Coquitlam closes the fields due to weather or safety, we will notify all Academy players via email. We will also update our website and post information on our homepage. 

  • What if we can't make all the sessions?

    Missed sessions will not be refunded unless a medical reason is provided. 

  • What is the $20 Out-of-Club Fee?

    This fee is applied to any Academy registrations when the player is not currently registered in the CMFSC Fall League Program. 

  • What is the difference between Player Academy and Prospects?

    Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC hosts two different types of academies to appeal to all levels of ability. 

    Boys & Girls Player Academy is open to all players and focuses on individual technical development and small-sided games. 

    Prospects Academy is intended to provide U8 - U10 Development Stream and U11 - U12 Divisional players with an opportunity to train in a more competitive environment. This program is an invite only program. Players from the house program may be invited to attend the program as well. 




  • What should my child wear to Academy?

    All Academy attendees must wear shin-guards and cleats. Players should wear comfortable athletic clothing that is weather appropriate (shorts, t-shirt, pants, toque, gloves, etc). It is suggested to wear CMFSC branded gear if possible. 

  • When does registration open?

    Registration opens in mid-July for the 2018-19 Fall Academy. 

  • Will my child get to play in full-sided games?

    No. The Academy setting is to work on individual skill development and small-sided games (maximum 5 per team). 

Boys & Girls Player Academy


This program is open to all players in the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club from Under 6 through Under 13.  The Player Academy will be primarily focused around individual technical development and small-sided games. This academy is available to the following players:

The focus for this academy will be on individual technical skill development and tactical play in a small-sided game format. This academy is available to the following players:

  • Under 8 Boys & Girls Development Stream Players
  • Under 9 Boys & Girls Development Stream Players

Invites and code sent to respective players.

The goalie academy will provide age appropriate training (Under 8 through Under 18) working on the physical, technical, and tactical side of goalkeeping. This academy is available to the following players:

  • Under 13 to Under 18 Division 1 through 3

The Prospects Goalkeeping Academy program will focus on working on the physical, technical, and tactical side of goalkeeping. This academy is available to the following boys & girls:
  • Under Under 11 - Under 12 Division 1 & 2 Players
  • Under 13 - Under 18 Metro Players

The Prospects Goalkeeping Academy is an invite only program. All invites for this program will be sent by CMFSC Technical Staff. All players not included in the academy are encouraged to register in the Goalkeeping Academy.
