CMFSC alumni, Jacob Powell will see an increase to his role as he heads into his third season with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Though this will be his first year as captain, Huskies coach, Bryce Chapman believes Powell has the tenacity and mental strength to step into the role, commenting, "You just have to watch him. He wins absolutely every battle. He never quits."

Powell graduated from Archbishop Carney High School and played in CMFSC's BCSPL program until 2015. Jacob's five siblings have also been with CMFSC, with his brother Benjamin Powell in the U11 Select program and his brother Francis Powell in the U15 MSL program. His other brother Joseph Powell, joined his brother to play for the Huskies this season.

Last season, Jacob notched four goals - three of them being game-winners - and added an assist in 16 games as a starter.
