Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC Achieves Club Charter Standard 1

Vancouver BC, December 20, 2017 – BC Soccer is pleased to announce that Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club has achieved Standard 1 of the BC Soccer Club Charter Program. To meet criteria outlined within the program Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC achieved standards which were based on three top-line categories: Technical; Governance; and Administrative.

“Congratulations to Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC for achieving the BC Soccer Club Charter Standard 1,” said Kjeld Broodsgard, BC Soccer President. “Achieving this standard really shows the dedication and commitment to creating the best possible environment not only for players, parents, and coaches but also for all of the clubs volunteers and staff. I also want to thank their coaching staff and administrative staff for working along side BC Soccer to achieve this standard.”

Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC is a cradle to grave club that operates youth and adult programming. Coquitlam Metro-Ford is based out of Coquitlam and offers both recreational and elite programs to more than 3500 youth and adult players. With a club philosophy of “Soccer for Life” Coquitlam Metro-Ford prides itself of developing not only future soccer, coach, and referee stars but also community volunteers. “CMFSC is proud to have achieved our Club Charter - Standard One status, after approximately two years of effort driven by Executive Director, Sara Maglio and her team, with the support from CMFSC VP Joe Basic and the BC Soccer team,” said Alex Barnetson, Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC President. With over 4,000 players and 750 plus volunteers, the project was a significant undertaking, however well worth the effort of supporting a growing movement towards a standards-based approach to delivery of community soccer services in BC!"
