2012 U18 Boys Ajax - 3rd Place @ Nationals in Sydney, NS

Here is a pretty good one. We celebrated harder then the winners:)
We went 2 wins and 2 draws in the group, finishing 2nd to Ontario only allowing 2 goals against and totally outplaying Ont only to end up drawing the game we needed to win to advance to finals. Nothing but compliments from other province coaches and parents. Boys did our club proud. Beat a very fast and talented Quebec side 2-1 in the bronze medal match In true Ajax fashion. 2nd half saw us miss a peno take a 2-0 lead, before having a man sent off for a second yellow making the 6min of added time intense!! Quebec cut the lead in half through an own goal, had the ball cleared of our line, and saw our keeper make a clutch save from a point blank header!! Needless to say when the whistle blew our boys celebrated in style. We set out for gold no doubt but come home to BC undefeated with our heads held high like the true champions these boys are. Thanks for all ur support back home, it meant a lot!!

2012 CMF Provincial Champions U16G Threat

The U16 MSL Threat followed up the league title with a second straight Provincial title this time in the A Cup. Threat defeated Port Moody 2-0 in the first game, goals from Stefania Memme and Paige Benning. The second game didn’t quite go there way, the chances were there but weren’t taken, West Van scored twice Stef pulled one back but it was too late. The third game was a must win and that is exactly what they did, 2-1 over Prince George, Stef once again opened the scoring Prince George tied the game only for Kimberley Hoskins to score a rocket from 25 yards out with 10 minutes left top corner to book their spot in the final. Port Moody was their opponents and as in the first game Threat ran out 2-0 winners, this time it was Mel Touhey scoring from the spot, Threat added a second late on after Kimberley’s near perfect corner was turned in by a Port Moody defender. CMF Threat also won the Fair Play Award.

BC Soccer Coach of the Year Award to CMFSC’s U18 Dynamo Coach, Kingsley Jones
On an annual basis the BC Soccer Board of Directors recognize a few exceptional volunteers within its membership. These award winners represent the hundreds of volunteers across the province who are the heart of soccer in BC. They are the individuals who administer, coach, officiate, schedule (and everything else in-between) whom without, the players of BC would not be able to participate in our beautiful game.
This year Kingsley Jones, was awarded Youth Coach of the Year, for his work and success with the 2010 National Champions, CMFSC Dynamo.  We would like to extend a congratulations for this great accomplishment and acknowledgement.
CMFSC would also like to extend a congratulations to former CMFSC, Daniel Stanese, for being recognized as BC Soccer’s Youth Player of the Year.  Daniel is currently with the Whitecaps Residency Program.

CMFSC wants to extend a congratulations to Sydney Leroux who made her debut with the US National Team on January 21, 2011.  Sydney played for the Coquitlam City Wild from 2002 through 2004.  She helped lead the Wild to three Provincial titles (U14, U15, & U16) and one National Championship (U14).  Although we wish Sydney was playing for Canada we are proud of her for her accomplishment and for being the first CMFSC player to play for the US National Team.
