This year our Coaches Appreciation & Coaches Game is scheduled for Friday, April 9th.

• The Coaches Appreciation is from 7:00pm-10:00pm at the Mike Butler Room at the Poirier Rec. Center.
• The Coaches Game is at 5:30pm at Charles Best turf field.

To help us gauge attendance at the Coaches appreciation game and the Coaches Appreciation Event, everyone please sign up and indicate if you are attending the game, Coaches appreciation event, or both by Friday, March 26th.

CMFSC is pleased to announce the introduction of our Junior Coach Development Program.  The CMFSC Junior Coach Development Program is an initiative designed to promote the education, training, and certification of youth coaches from the recreation level to the elite level. 
Our goal is to identify and develop youth coaches within our club in the hope that they remain part of or return to coach and contribute to soccer development of CMFSC youth players.  
Applications must be submitted by March 7, 2010

Planning has begun for the 2010-2011 season and information for the CMFSC Evaluation Process is now posted.  All players attending Evaluations must sign-up prior to attending an evaluation session.  Information will be updated as more evaluation dates are confirmed. 

The idea behind the Evaluations process is that players are best served by being placed on teams with players of a similar ability.  We ensure that all players will receive equal opportunity for selection to the team that they wish to play for.

CMFSC is pleased to announce that Katherine Caverly has been selected to the Under 17 National Team for their next training camp being held later this month in Ontario.  Katherine was a member of CMFSC Silence, currently in their Under 18 Metro season under the direction of Head Coach, Richard Henly.  Katherine left our program this season when she was selected to the Whitecaps Full-Time Prospects program.

Coquitlam Metro Ford Soccer Club is entering our fifth year of the Player Development Academies.  This year there are a few changes to our Academy program.  This program will now run for 12 weeks and run over the Fall & Winter.  Therefore, there is only one sign-up for the year.  Both the boy’s and the girl’s Academy will now fall under the direction of Alfredo Valente, Head Coach of Technical Programs.  We are pleased again to be able to offer a High Performance Academy, Player Academy for boys and girls as well as a Goalkeeping Academy.

Hugo Vieira (CMF Barca) has been selected to the National Training Centre (NTC) U14 Program. That makes Hugo and Trevor Hallam from CMF Barca in the program.

Manuel Mangu from the U13 Super Y league team was also selected to the program.

Michael North from CMF Sparta has also been selected to the program

A total of 5 other Barca players have been invited for tryouts (Giordano Baldonero, Kyle Jones, Rashaun Rivers, Anthony Martin, and Alex Skrzeta)

Welcome to our registration system for the 2009-2010 season. Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC (CMFSC) is very pleased to announce there was NO INCREASE in youth annual registration fees (U8-U18) for the 2009-2010 season. For our Initiation Academy (U5-U7) members, there will be a $10.00 increase to facilitate a switch to uniforms. CMFSC continues to provide one of the best youth soccer programs in the Province of BC, with very competitive registration fees.

Here is a picture of some of the team players for the Special Olympics Soccer team that Bob Lauro and George Lawson (club coaches) have been coaching for the last few years. The other coach is Tanya Aspeleiter.
 
The team participated in the BC Summer Games for Special Olympics in Abbotsford. 1200 kids attended. The record was 3-1 and they took home the Silver Medals!
