2010-11 Junior Coach Development Program
Applications are now being taken for CMFSC’s 2010-11 Junior Coach Development Program
The CMFSC Junior Coach Development Program is an initiative designed to promote the education, training, and certification of youth coaches from the recreation level to the elite level. Our goal is to identify and develop youth coaches within our club in the hope that they remain part of or return to coach and contribute to soccer development of CMFSC youth players.
Objectives
Identify and develop youth coaches through this program into future Assistant and eventual Head Coaching positions.
Fall 2010 & Winter 2011 Junior Coach Development Program
- For the Fall 2010 & Winter 2011 CMFSC will be running the Junior Coach Development Program from September 2010 to March 2011.
- Accepted applicants will be placed in Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 by the Technical Director; placement dependent on qualifications
- Accept to a maximum of 20 participants (10 female and 10 male)
Application Criteria
The following criteria will be considered to determine placement into the program:
- Years with CMFSC as player/volunteer/coach
- Coaching/volunteer experience within CMFSC
- Coaching/volunteer experience outside of CMFSC
- Current certification levels
- References
Application Process
- This program is open to current and past CMFSC players between the ages of 15-21 years old.
- Interested applicants must submit their resume to Sara Maglio, CMFSC Technical Director, by September 24, 2010 at technicaldirector@cmfsc.ca.

Junior Coach Development Fall-Winter Program to consist of:
Level 1
- Minimum 20 volunteer hours.
- Volunteer Hours will be spent in the following programs - Jamborees, Spring Break Camp, and Mini Initiation Academy.
- Club pays for their Community Coach Children’s Course
Level 2
- Minimum 30 volunteer hours.
- Volunteer Hours will be spent in the following programs at the following areas : Jamborees, Mini Initiation Academy, Spring Break Camp, & Academies, and working with teams/assistant coach roles.
- May be opportunities to work, at youth coaching wages, in such things as Camps, Day of Fun, etc. as determined by the Technical Director.
- Club pays for their Community Coach Children’s or Youth Course if they are at this level.
Level 3
- Minimum 40 volunteer hours.
- Junior Coaches in this level are paired with a team.
- Coaches in level three will be given first priority if Junior coaches are needed in the following programs Spring Break Camp, Soccer Day of Fun, Jamborees, etc. Youth Coaches wages will be paid for these programs.
- Club pays for their next level of certification required
- Technical Director to assess all candidates in Level 3 to determine ability and placement in pay scale – ie: $10 – $20/hr
*Following completion of 30 volunteer hours and enrolment and completion of CCC course Junior coaches may be considered, based on their assessments, for working in Summer Camps and volunteering as a Junior Assistant Coach for Y-League.*
Coach Development & Coach Certification Expectations
- CMFSC will financially support for coach certification programs.
- Junior coaches will be expected to complete at minimum one certification course every two years in this order Community Coach Children, Community Coach Youth, Community Coach Senior, etc.
- All Junior Coaches will be encouraged to attend all Coach Development Sessions hosted by CMFSC
Evaluation/Assessment of Coaches
- Assessed by Technical Director and other Senior Coaches that the Junior Coaches work with annually.
