Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club Academy Fall 2009 & Winter 2010
Coquitlam Metro Ford Soccer Club is entering our fifth year of the Player Development Academies. This year there are a few changes to our Academy program. This program will now run for 12 weeks and run over the Fall & Winter. Therefore, there is only one sign-up for the year. Both the boy’s and the girl’s Academy will now fall under the direction of Alfredo Valente, Head Coach of Technical Programs. We are pleased again to be able to offer a High Performance Academy, Player Academy for boys and girls as well as a Goalkeeping Academy.
Boys & Girls Player Academy – Wednesday Evenings
This program is open to all players in the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club. Player groupings will be based on placing like-minded and like-skilled players together. This will allow each player to develop in an environment appropriate to their ability. The focus on this Academy is working on individual skill development in a challenging and dynamic environment.
For more information about the Boys & Girls Player Academy please contact Alfredo Valente at headcoach@cmfsc.ca.
Registration is on a first come first serve basis and is limited due to field space.
Girls & Boys High Performance Academy – Monday Evenings
The High Performance Academy is intended to provide players with an opportunity to train at the highest level possible. The focus for this academy will be on individual skill development and age appropriate tactical play.
These selections will be done through past evaluations of players as well as through the Wednesday Night Player Academy. All decisions on selections to the High Performance Academy will be made by our Head Coach of Technical Programs, Alfredo Valente. Most players will be notified prior to the start of the Academy if they are selected to train in the High Performance Academy. Unless notified ahead of time you are to attend the Wednesday Night Player Academy. There may not be High Performance training groups for every age group as it will depend on registration. Some age groups may also be combined by age groups. If selected to participate in the High Performance Academy you will only train on Mondays.

Academy Attire
In the past we have required that players purchase Academy jerseys but have decided to not continue with this. As our club branding has grown many teams have purchased training shirts and or tracksuits. We encourage all players to wear CMFSC attire at the Academy.
Registration Deadline
Our program has limited registration due to field constraints. We will also determine training times based on registration so please register early so we are able to notify groups when they will be training.
Refunds are only issued for medical reasons with a doctor’s note.
Approved refunds include pro-rating the registration fees after a $25.00 administrative fee deduction.
Jersey fee is non-refundable
NSF cheques are subject to a $25.00 charge.
Out of Club Players
Out of club players may register for our Academy but will be placed on a waiting list as the first priority for our Academies is for players within our club. Players not registered with the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club must add $30.00 onto their registration fee.
Commitment
Players are expected to arrive on time ready to play wearing proper soccer attire, shin pads, and proper footwear and with a water bottle.
Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Academy is open to motivated players of all skill levels committed to improvement. Players who prove to be disruptive to this training environment will lose their place in the program and a pro-rated refund (after a $25 administrative fee deduction) will be given based on the number of sessions they have attended.
Cancellations
The Academy sessions will only be cancelled in severe weather conditions. If this is the case you will be notified via email of any cancellations and we will do everything possible to make the cancelled sessions up. The club will not be responsible for refunds if we are unable to reschedule these missed sessions due to weather.
